About the Work

The screenprint series untitled is a set of monoprints which depict the artists’ body printed on top of itself multiple times in an individual print. This investigation of moiré patterns is informed by halftone printing, a process where a greyscale photograph is translated into a binary system of black halftone dots or grids. The moiré occurs as rosette patterns, which vary in appearance and intensity depending on the misregistration. Using the body as imagery emphasizes motion in the misalignment, as well as the skin-like quality of the moiré patterns.
