About the Work

This pair of sculptures respond to the writing of Timothy Morton, who states:

“Putting something called Nature on a pedestal and admiring it from afar does for the environment what patriarchy does for the figure of Woman.”

By reducing a symbol associated with both nature and femininity into something that lacks a sacred complexity, I explored semiotics in an ecofeminist context.
